1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly when creating an account and using the Service, including: your name, email address, profile photo, bio, and workout check-in data (photos, notes, timestamps). When you make a payment, Stripe collects your payment information directly; we receive only a transaction reference and payment status. We also collect usage data such as pages viewed, features used, and device information through standard web analytics.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to: (a) provide and maintain the Service; (b) process payments and refunds; (c) calculate challenge scores and leaderboard rankings; (d) display your profile and workout activity to other challenge participants; (e) send you notifications about challenge activity, reminders, and important updates; (f) enforce our Terms of Service and community guidelines; (g) improve and develop new features; (h) respond to your inquiries and support requests.

3. Information Sharing

Your profile name, avatar, and workout activity are visible to other members of challenges you join. Chat messages are visible to all members of the respective challenge. We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We share information with: (a) Stripe for payment processing; (b) service providers who assist in operating the platform (hosting, analytics); (c) law enforcement when required by law or to protect our rights and the safety of users.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase infrastructure with encryption at rest and in transit. We implement industry-standard security measures including Row Level Security (RLS) to ensure users can only access data they are authorized to see. While we strive to protect your information, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Workout Photos and Media

Workout proof photos you upload are stored securely and are visible to other members of the challenge they are submitted to. Photos may be reviewed by challenge administrators as part of the workout verification process. You retain ownership of all photos you upload. Photos are not used for any purpose outside of the challenge context unless you provide explicit consent.

6. Push Notifications

If you enable push notifications, we collect and store your device push token to send you notifications about challenge activity, reminders, and updates. You can disable push notifications at any time through your device settings or notification preferences within the app. Disabling notifications will not affect the core functionality of the Service.

7. Cookies and Tracking

We use essential cookies and local storage to maintain your authentication session and preferences. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. Analytics data is collected in aggregate form to improve the Service and does not include personally identifiable information shared with third parties for advertising purposes.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to: (a) access the personal information we hold about you; (b) request correction of inaccurate information; (c) request deletion of your account and associated data; (d) export your workout and challenge data; (e) opt out of non-essential notifications. To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@accountability.app. We will respond to requests within 30 days.

9. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Workout check-in data and challenge history are retained for 24 months after challenge completion for record-keeping purposes. Payment records are retained as required by financial regulations. Upon account deletion, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

10. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for use by individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we become aware that we have collected information from a user under 18, we will take steps to delete that information promptly.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy within the app and, where appropriate, by sending you a notification. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
